Yea I hear ya! I did the same thing with a Canary pre amp and luckily I've been thoroughly happy with it!
I'd fire it up since its been in a crate. My father fired up his old Wintec receiver that was just out in the open after sitting for 8yrs and it started up w no problems and your Mc is better quality...
How do you like the DAC compared to other brands? At least from articles Peachtree Dacs look like to sound good at a reasonable price.
This is looking like the same beginning to a tragic ending that happened to Altec.
Man that guy is one crazy dude with nice gear! :banghead:
Sweet, thanks!!!
The only few I can think off the top of my head are
Denali - vinyl
Depeche Mode - cd.
Buddy Guy "sweat tea" cd
HTjamesHow would someone be able to discern that? I'd love to have a good list of albums that are recorded well but someone would need nice gear to truly hear the difference.
I understood your view but I guess I did a poor job in explaining mine so ill try to explain it better. Never been good at expressing in words how something sounds. The recording process has...
I think both formats can sound outstanding but at what cost? I like the convenience of digital but it seems like a budget turntable still sounds better than most 2k Dacs. Digital will close the gap...
I had to sleep on it before coming to a conclusion and came to the determination this design is WAY too ostentatious for my liking. Nice woodwork though
Oh #$$@# my first thought was a cat got ahold of your woofer!!!
Haha
Wow!? Just go Mcguyver and figure something out. I'm sure you can figure out a way to make a gasket, check a local hardware store
Nice! What program did you use to design the cab?
Good listen. Mr Jones goes over this very topic. I think it starts around the 10min mark

Not surprised. i've always thought, nice sounding B&W is; way overpriced and all about a status.
a ported box helps tune the bass freq of the cab. That's a very simple explanation for the ported box w/out getting into great detail. Honestly for a guitar cab i'd stay w/an open back, gives a more...
Nice pick up!! I'll spin w/some friends every now and again; always loved how the mk2 held their pitch for long seamless mixes.
Thanks, didn't mean to hijack your thread!
Yea it looks like (if I'm reading this graph right) the array horn while a little bit narrower in its dispersion pattern say maybe 60x30 displays a more controlled dispersion pattern. The wider the...
Ah gotcha!! Thanks!
I've never heard the 1400 Array, so if I'm reading this right the vertical arrangement gives a taller somewhat deeper soundstage? Can you describe the horizontal effect?
Nice read thanks!
