Forgot to mention regarding subs, I've got subs - no problem. I currently have 2 IB sub manifolds each with dual 18" drivers. Whatever I install will be high-passed around 50Hz with the subs...
Found this online:
SAM1HF: $2500 each
SAM2LF: $1500 each
M2 is $6000 each, plus amps.
Still a tough decision...
So how would you compare this system to the M2? I'm curious because I'm guessing the cost would be nearly equivalent.
Hey Everyone,
Was daydreaming about a new LCR setup for my home theater and the concept of SAM1HF + JBL Pro S2XES seems potentially cool. Does anyone out there have experience with either of these...
Hey everybody. Anyone have experience with the SK2-3300? I'm thinking it might make a good center channel? Opinions?
Thanks!
Got some JBL M2's to sell. Can I do that here?
I have M2's in a similar arrangement as Don. My room is a bit wider but the arrangement is basically the same. Before my M2 purchase, I spoke with Charles Sprinkle about selecting an appropriate...
Are you using an active crossover? If you change from a "16 ohm" to an "8 ohm" driver, the crossover frequency of a passive crossover will change.
The curve referenced below is the M2 with NO EQ. Incidentally, the factory EQ has about 9dB of HF boost to compensate for the roll-off you see.
Here is the M2 with the factory EQ measured at...
I'd be happy to help.
I did all the work myself. I used REW software with a USB soundcard and a calibrated MIC I purchased from Parts Express. The amp files for the Crown amps can be downloaded from the JBL Pro site. ...
I can't speak to a dealer's willingness to "break up the package" but I can confirm a few things stated by JPW. First, the M2 is considered special. Kevin Voecks and many other key contributors at...
The factory settings are still alive and well in my amp. I can turn them on and off at will. Believe me, I understand the passion for keeping the factory settings. Whether I start with the factory...
Hi Everyone. As promised, here is some data I collected over the weekend.
First graph shows the before (green) and after (blue) of placing 12" of Roxul in the room corner behind the speaker. ...
I have not. Before I purchased the M2s, I spoke to several people I know in the JBL and Revel engineering departments. In all cases except one, I received varying opinions on JBL (including 1400)...
So, I have spent the day with a microphone and huge piles of Roxul. I piled Roxul, 11 inches thick, from floor to ceiling against the wall behind my speakers and found that it helped my bass...
Hi MAC
Thanks for the response. The factory EQ does leave some room to add EQ for room correction. I did not make the decision to delete the factory EQ parameters lightly. No doubt the designer...
Hey everyone. Thanks for the great discussion. Here are more measurements I took when I got home from work.
M2 with factory EQ in my listening spot.

Hi All,
Trying to respond to everyone in a single response.
I chose the M2 based on various recommendations I have received from various people I know within the Harman engineering team. Of all...
This might be interesting but I wonder about the EQ. How should I set the EQ for these measurements?
Hi McTwins.
Thanks for your interest. Attached are the responses you requested. I'd be interested in your feedback. Just getting into the whole audio measurement process so I'n not entirely sure...
Measurement is for the LR pair of M2s plus the subs. Center channel is off.
Yes, the third is behind the screen on its side. The bi-radial horn is virtually identical in the vertical and horizontal axes so its response is almost identical to the sides.
For subs, I have...
I have never owned the K2s but I have heard them. I recently purchased M2s and, in my opinion, they are better than K2s. Frankly speaking, I've never heard a speaker at any price that outperforms...
