Trying to work some of these drivers into SR projects, so I'm
trying to find crossover points, frequency ranges, etc.

Try EV. They were the last owners of the brand. I believe they kept the technical information even after they killed the product line in 1998.

We do not have any specs on these. There is a gentleman that does some work on Gauss and Altec Speakers. He could possible have what you are looking for. His name is Bill Hanuschak and his number is 405-789-0221.

Looks like their version of the E130/K130, really. Not a lot of cone excursion. Good guitar speaker, questionable for keyboard (lack of bottom end output capacity, with the low excursion).
Still looking for 5831 info...
BTW: JJ, the K140 looks kinda interesting. I'm maybe a bit hesitant, given it's only rated at 150 watts... but the other parameters seem to indicate it should work pretty well in a keyboard rig, as long as it's not expected to go stratospheric volume levels on a huge amp. And of course, if it ever blows up, you could always recone it as a 2225, and become much more bulletproof (400w power handling, IIRC)... and in fact, the K140 and 2225 can work in the same box tuning, if it's set up right to start with, to do so (for example, 4 ft^3 tuned to about 43-45 Hz ported would work with either, and give bottom end into the mid-40s)...

Your 5831 is an older version of the 3581. Gauss changed their transducer numbering convention around 1978 ( I think ). I used to own 8842 woofers. These were the first generation 4882 ( 18" ). The first number "used to" denote speaker size - in your case 15". The second digit was impedance. The third digit referred to voice coil size - in your case 3". Then , as I said Gauss swapped it around so that the first digit became voice coil size, second digit reflects frame size and third digit idicates impedance, fourth digit was a usage designation of sorts. A 3261 then is a 3" voice coil, 12" frame , 16 ohm impedance, with extended highs, speaker .Quote:

The 2080 and 1502?

The 2080 is an aluminum 2" diaphragm (1" exit ) with an 8 ohm impedance.
If it was a 2081 it would be a phenolic diaphragm ( 8 ohms ). At 800 hz Xo, the 2080 has a rated power handling of 25 watts rms, at 1200 hz Xo, the power handling goes up to 40 watts rms. A 2080 has a usable response of 800 to 18,000 hz.
The 1502 ( Big Tweet ) has a 1.5" aluminum diaphragm. Usable response is given as 2500 hz to 20,000 hz - though 20k is about 8 db lower than 10k . Power handling is about 30 watts . Not a very linear response curve.
Hook them up & see if you like them .
