Wow...
I'm stunned.
He was always a great help.
Condolences to his friends and family.
Speechless.
Very sad news.
Sad indeed.
I have learned a lot from Drew's writings and projects and am grateful for his willingness to share his knowledge. A debt I will doubtful ever be able to repay.
Many thanks Drew!

Too young.
What's in the background of this photo?
On the Mix link, it says, "Drew Daniels in his home studio with a TASCAM DA-RA1000 DSD recorder, a format he much preferred to PCM digital" below that pic. I think it should read "DV-RA 1000"
Such a smart and talented guy, he even made a couple of posts here in the last few months.
This is very sad news.
He inspired me to upgrade from my old 030 system and then to build my current system.
I always wanted to thank him personally.
But, alas that is now impossible.

That's a real shame - we've lost too many members over the last year ...!
I learned of Drew's early demise only today, when I visited his website and saw the announcement of his unexpected death.
Drew Daniels was, and will remain, the single greatest influence on my audio hobby and speaker design endeavours. While many people may be competent at engineering or system architecture, Drew combined his engineering expertise with a deep knowledge of music, audio recording and reproduction, transducers and most importantly, an unparalleled writing style which simultaneously informed, inspired and encouraged the reader to implement his ideas.
He will be sadly missed by me, and everyone he touched

I'm with Audiohack and The Baron - it was Drew who inspired me to upgrade my old rig based on his "white paper" re his Disney project back in the eighties. And, I got to actually hear that amazing system - happened to be on vacation. Gorgeous: big, open, uncolored musically yet with sufficient muscle to send a Saturn V into orbit! That plus shakers on the seating area and it was as though you were there! Many thanks.
I talked to him on the phone several years ago. He was very personable and knowledgeable.
I really liked his two articles linked to this website, "Ancient audiophile system quest". I can't remember the exact titles off the top of my head.
Drew will be missed!
Ron
I never had communication with Drew but enjoyed reading his articles. Condolences to his friends and family.
That's too young. I'm also going to schedule a checkup...
