totally agree , Jim. when I surf past the modern country, it sounds like it all was computer generated. And wow, if you want to call Neil Young whiney, listen to modern country, nearly as bad as gangsta rap and hip hop. :(

I really , really enjoy Steeley Dan. BUT I just listened to "two against nature". Couldnt even make it thru the whole CD...... Shlock !!!! :( :( :(
I despise ANYTHING to do with (c)rap music -- just gangster wannabes who should be incarcerated for life.:barf:

Little Feat - accidently won tickets to their show at the Crystal Ballroom. walked out after about half the show. Shudda sold them to the scalper out front.
Yeah, I've seen them 3 times over the years - in '71 when they were a hot new band (them and Bonnie Rait were the warm up acts for Paul Butterfield's Better Days). Once about a year later (touring for the Dixie Chicken album I think) still good, but their direction was changing, and once a few years later after Lowell George was dead - waste of time - never again. I've heard some bootlegs and albums since then - but not interested.
You ought to give some of their earlier albums a listen - the ones that still had Lowell George, (though the first one or two were a little rough...). That's some of my favorite music! I even selectively like some of their later stuff, though concert-wise, the originals were far better than their current examples...
John
Batdorf & Stanley - like a lounge lizzard cover of elevator music. yuk
U.K.
XM is either great OR sucks - depending on DJ
Elton John is generally OKAY, but LIVE doing "Burn down the Mission / Get Back" was really hideous. A waste of recording medium.
