I'd think an experienced reconer could do this rather easily.

My Array clones are using 2235a's in 150L tuned to 32hz.
I have pair of spare 2235a's looking for a project and just wondered
if a switch to 2234 would give me more snap/speed in the bottom end and maybe clearer low mids.
If so it could be a simple drop in swap.
In my room I'm getting a harder/ tighter bass with the ports tightly plugged
so effectively running the boxes sealed-not the best application of a 2235 I know.. but I do like that harder snappier bass sound so hence the enquiry.

FWIW, I ran 2234s in place of the 2235s in a pair of 4430s for awhile (a month or two),
did some listening and some measurements (mostly same response, just a bit higher
sensitivity with the 2234s... with the trade-off of less low-low end). I could have left the 2234s
in place and been happy in a smaller room.

I suppose what I'm really asking is "would it be worth doing?" as I'm running active DSP so can deal with room gain issues with peq it's really wether there are significant gains to be had in terms of speed and articulation.
If I were a bit closer, I'd just loan them to you ...
Short of that, it does seem a shame to rip open perfectly
good 2235s for what I'd consider a noticeable, but not
amazing difference... But if you're in with a good reconer
and don't mind the cost to do the experiment, your system
might benefit more than mine ... Not too helpful,
but that's all I've got for you.

I agree, the idea hasn't exactly met with an emphatic endorsement so I'll drop it I think.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to get something like this in their head then-like last night
put some tunes on and think "it doesn't get much better than this".
Maybe if I decide to double up the bass drivers some time in the future then I'll try it.
