Can anybody identify this JBL?

Hello,

if you know what this unit is, please let me know - I cannot find any reference to it - seems like a pretty rare JBL - probably from late 60's. Please let me know the complement of drivers or options if you know what this is... Looks kind of along the lines of a Soverign or Olympus system, but it is a bit different in cabinet (especially grill assembly) design.

Not JBL, IMHO. It appears to be a McIntosh ML-4C. Google Roger Russell for the details. Roger is still active in speaker design since his days with McIntosh.

I once heard a set of them along with a set of MC-3500s at a stereo shop and was my first exposure to what a real stereo could sound like. I'd never heard the Grateful Dead sound like that and have been hooked ever since - on high quality audio, that is.

Thank you - I think you are right, but the thing that threw me off was the JBL badge on the top left panel (lower right corner). But, appears to be the McIntosh you have identified with a JBL badge put on for a good show!
