crossover help sr4738
I acquired a pair of these and the one cab works fine, but the other has the mid out. I know the driver is fine because it works when wired direct. Would a bad cap stop the signal from passing or would it have to be the inductor ? I have tried the speaker connector for fullrange and the biamp ones and nothing from the mid. Here is the schematics if anyone can help . - http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/SR-Series/SR4738.pdf

C1
check the solder connections on C1 - or it is open.
put a temp jumper across it to rule out any other cause(s)

Thanks , checking it now. One of the solder joints was under glue, warming the solder gun .
-
Sure enough under the glue was the bad joint . Thanks

If I were to swap the woofer for a 8ohm 2242 would it mess the sound of the other drivers up ? The 2241's in there are 4ohm .
-
A friend told me he could add a zobel circuit for the woofer ,then I could use the 2242 .

I'm biamping these now and they sound much better . I wonder why they had the 2241 going all the way up to 600hz. I am using a dbx 223xl crossing at 240hz the bass sounds much cleaner. I have 4 2245's and 6 2242's . One of these days I am gonna swap them around and try it a pair of those in here.
