weather was passable yesterday ,
Summer seems to have ended Sept,1
Biked down to my fave grabb-o-rama store
(inventory changes hourly, new tables come out & everybody
goes full piranha mode)
anyway,, tables rolled out and there were a pair of JBL Venue STAGE
tower speakers in nice condition. I got 1 and a Russian friend got the other.
Looked it over ... made in Ch1na -yuk , 6.5 LF , yuk ..etc. couldn't get very excited
and gave mine over to him. He got a price from a wandering manager of $25.

it was prolly a decent deal, but checked online today and they were only $118 each..NEW.

later on a table stopped in front of me and I recognized the bottom of a Marantz receiver, in it's wood case. Grabbed that one quickly. BUT , it was only a 2216 , broken off balance slider , bent shafts , although in nice condition before GW damaged it. Reluctantly threw it back too.
At least I ended up with a nice Signet phono cart :o:

no audio today on the ride ,
.
but DID haul (16 pounds and huge) this French wall clock . Web dates it from between 1915-1920 . Unusual that it has Westminster chime. Another Winter project. :crying:
I like the Art Deco hands.
