Does anybody know this 1990 version of the beautiful Rod Argent song "Time of the season" B4? Reduced to the maximum. Rod Argent is missing. There's just the voice of Colin Blunstone, a majestic piano and a fat church organ. That's all, but perfect, IMHO.
Much as I really enjoy Peter Green's work , his "Black Magic Woman" was surpassed
by the Carlos Santana version.
"Black Magic Woman" is a song written by British musician Peter Green, which first appeared as a Fleetwood Mac single in various countries in 1968, subsequently appearing on the 1969 Fleetwood Mac compilation albums English Rose (US) and The Pious Bird of Good Omen (UK), as well as Vintage Years.[1]
In 1970, it became a hit by Santana, as sung by Gregg Rolie, reaching No. 4 in the US and Canadian charts, after appearing on their Abraxas album.

Does anybody know William Howard Ashton from Bootle, the appealingly named suburn of Liverpool? He was known as Billy J Kramer. His band was the Dakotas. Managed by Brian Epstein. "Do you know a secret" was written by stablemates John Lennon and Paul McCartney and recorded for their first "Please Please Me" LP which went to number one in the charts in June 1963. It's one of the few songs recorded first by The Beatles which seems more familiar in a non-Beatles version. The Billy J Kramer version was produced by???
George Martin!
This 1998 version approves the beauty of this Prince song. In fact the female voice of LeAnn Rimes shows more emotional intensity than the original. Anybody knows a better version than this one?

I've always been a fan of keys and I dig the action on the percussion kit. About as close as you can get to the emotion of being caught up in the actual situation.

Something about the content of the lyrics intertwined with the music always brings a smile, especially considering the original.
