So, I finally got my 250 ti's and now I'm planning to build two testboxes with 2245's.
Is there any other way to go if You can't do your own BX-63's? I'm thinking Behringer Super X f.e. Any advice when you look for active crossovers on the pro-market? Maybe you have a tip on a good model? It has to be a 2-way stereo, with adjustable x-over points and gain controllers for each band.

I think the Widget and I both, maybe Ian too..., would urge you consider the XR1001 from Ashly. There's been some discussion of it on the Forum (use Search). A fantastic bit of engineering... :yes:
I don't think the Ashly offers any bump filters so you might have to design your "B460" systems accordingly.

Regarding your search for active crossovers:
Have you ever looked at Rane active crossovers ?
They have a model thats maybe suites you perfectly, model AC22B
(B= balanced in and outputs)
I donīt know anything about these crossovers, I had never have the oppotunity to lissten to it. But, I think it is perfect for your purpose. It incorporates a Linkwitz-Riley alignment, adjustable time delay circuits (for the bass) +all the controls you might have use for (allso stereo, 2 ways).

Ther is allso a lot of Rane crossovers for sale at the e-bay auctions. You can probably get one for $ 150-250 I guess (model AC22 = balaced inputs only, not balanced outputs).
Maybe somebody at the Forum can tell you more, if this is a current model
for your purpose or not.

I'm not sure what you mean. I know there aren't any bump filters in most active crossovers, but how do you mean, should I take that in consideration when building my boxes? Please help me out.Quote:

I've checked both Ashley and Rane and they seem very nice both of 'em. Thanks for the tip!

If you use an off the shelf active crossover, you will need to add an outboard EQ with subsonic cut if you want to fully simulate the B460.
As for crossovers I have both the Rane and Ashley, and the Ashley does sound significantly better to me.

Another xover to look at is www.marchandelec.com. Phil will build to suit your needs. 6,12,18,24 Db per octave, built in delay, CD horn compensation, baffle step compensation, specific EQ bumps, input gain, 2,3, and 4 way units available, in assembled or kit form, and different models and price levels to choose from. Prices are nice and his units sound good!

I've been thinking about this bump at 25-26 Hz. I know that the bx-63 has this bump, but what does this bump really do? Is it necessary for the 2245 to do its best? Maybe to get the most linear response down to under 20 Hz?
Since I'm going to use two 2245's couldn't I go for an ordinary active crossover and boxes tuned to a few cycles over 20Hz? I know it wont sound exactly as the B460 but if it still sounds good, thats fine with me!
