2441 throat needed

Hi I am trying to obtain a throat for a 2441.

I recently purchased a pair of 2441s and one did not survive shipment (not properly packed). I have located a local repairer who can fix it provided I can supply him with a replacement throat.

The local JBL agent claims that the 2441 is an obsolete product and that JBL cannot supply them with parts.

I read previous posts on this subject in this forum with interest, especially a post from Mr Widget who had some of these rebuilt in March 2001. In that post Mr Widget quoted the part # as 21251.

Any help in locating one of these would be much appreciated.

I just called JBL and was told they are in stock and available for $8.50. It must be ordered through a JBL reconer or parts distributor.

Since I last posted Orange County Speakers got back to me so I have ordered via them.

Lets hope JBL keep supplying this part .

BTW Hopefully of interest to Australian members - Etone in Sydney NSW Australia provide a repair service for these drivers which I intend to use.
