Today i heard music with Yamaha P2200 on my selfmade S2600
iam disappointed
the temperature of R3 and R4 in the S2600 crossover are very high ...very
and about 100 watts the sound wasnt clearly ... in the high section...
is there any high frequency disturbance in the amp ?
or is the amp too old ?
my line signal chinch cable to the amp is about 33 feet its not a expensive cable
and my loudspeaker cable about 1-2 feet

- Do you have any way of posting a screen-shot of the S2600 with pink noise running through it and with a test microphone plugged into a RTA ( Real Time Analyzer ) ? A picture of the pink noise response for your system would be a real help. ;)
- I'm wondering if you built the crossover correct .
- For instance , L2 & C9 taken together, form a LCR notch filter . If you haven't added enough inline resistance to this pair of components you will be creating too deep a notch ( this will adversely effect the upper midrange & lower presence range ). .
- Lpads: R3 & R4 are there to dump power and balance the horn to the woofer. The schematic shows just 5 watt resistors ( obviously not large enough ) . In your case ( being young and prone to stepping on the gas ) I would make these 20 watt resistors . Can't find the 20 watt , 20 ohm & 10 ohm resistors ? Then parallel 2, 40 ohm resistors together to create the 20 ohm ( & like-wise parallel 2, 10 watt , 20 ohm resistors to create the 10 ohm ) . By paralleling two 10 watt resistors together you now get power handling of 20 watts . These will run much cooler .

hmm i think anybody must help me to correct this
can anybody messure the resistance of a few points in the orginal crossover ?
i know that r3 or r4 is for damping but why were these parts hot on a yamaha p2200 about 100 watts
and not on a yamaha p3500 on about 300 watts ?!
i tested the s2600 on the p3500 no problem ! and on the P2200 - theres a prob...

i tested the s2600 on the p3500 no problem ! and on the P2200 - theres a prob...
Since those resistors only heat up when you use the P2200, this indicates the P2200 has a High Frequency stability problem ( oscillation ). It might not like the impedance load of the N2600 up in the UHF areas.
- Don't use that amp for now / UHF oscillation could easily burn out the 2426H driver. Get the amplifier serviced.
- till someone gives you a DCR for that part of the circuit ,,, try a 7 or 8 ohm resistor placed in line with L2 or C9 ( placement on either side of those two parts is fine ).Quote:

now ive tested the S2600 on my Yamaha P3200 its a brand new Amp
(2 years old)
left my LX55 right the S2600
the same setting each channel and the red clipping LED is blinking
on the S2600 side
with the same volume and settings than the LX55
and the R3 and R4 are also hot
i think the crossover of the S2600 is bullshit !
what shall i do ?
a brand new N2600 is about 150-200 euros
I have not confronted the S2600/S3100/MKII crossover building yet. I'm running quite successfully with NL200t3 crossover (for the simple HF boost compensation) plus external EQ. See recent posts in the Q&D 4430's thread....
is this the behringer ultra curve you shown us on the pics

Yes. Less than $300 U.S., including the microphone.
I learned (from Mr. Widget) very early on that this stuff cannot be done without an RTA.
Having an equalizer with autoEQ in combination with an RTA is triply useful....

i think i will buy the orginal s2600 crossover...
