JBL 5000
What do you think of this system. Components per cabinet 2-2245 woofs 1-2220H Midbass 1- 2395,2309&10, or 2397 with a 2441 midrange 2-2404 reconed to 2405 diaphram tweeters. Biamp Crossover points at 150 to 200Hz lows, 800 to 1K Midbass, 9 or 10K midrange. Think it will sound good?

Two tweeters = major comb filter sonic mess....
-
Even with the 2 -2404 on top of one another in line
-
They're 100° x 100° dispersion. I don't think line array theory can overcome that....

Why not a shearer horn with 2242's (was 2240) a double scoop loaded with 2 2226 (was 2225), a nice front loaded double 2012 (was E110) and a 2441 with 2395 horns on top. Put one of those "towers" in every room corner. Not to forget the nice little cubes each loaded with 4 2405 slots hanging off the ceiling everywhere.
This was the SOTA system in the bigger spanish super clubs during the 80s. The sound was always a KILLER!
Back to thread. It all depends how you arrange the crossover. Sounds like massive work to bring this components together.
