A pair of L212's waiting to be restored next to the last remaining stock of DX-1's on the planet.

The rest of the photos in this series are taken from the store room that contains a pair of every JBL speaker made in the last 15 years. Here we see an M9500.

OH!! My!!:spchless:  :jawdrop:

That room has more than just JBL. I saw a few other brand names in there unless they were copies.

That would be a fun room!!:applaud: As a signature from the forum says "It's the Journey" that looks to be a VERY significant stop along the way.!!:D

Thanks Don!! Thanks Giskard!!

One isle was devoted to Infinity stuff. A few other brands too. I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to them. Sorry! :rotfl:

Don? Didn't Greg say some older models were killed in the earthquake?

XPL160 looking a little worse for wear.

I see some more XPLs lying to the left and four SVA Series stacked (!) to the right. Ah, the indignity. :(

A very interesting room indeed. Kinda looks like my garage. :rotfl:

A prototype Century Gold tower version that never made it to market. An ACTUAL "floor-standing" L100.... :p

The day started was a tour of the anechoic chambers:

When I trained at JBL for becoming a Service Agency, all the trainee's got to experience the anechoic chamber....1988.

It seems like lots has changed there since post earthquake days. I remember the factory tour and all the assembly lines....and the assembly lines for different manufacturers OEM products.

Impressive facility.

I think I've just figured out who is behind the blue pixels.

An ACTUAL "floor-standing" L100.... :pComparing the Century Gold to the L100 is rude. Hell, the Century Gold networks alone cost more than a pair of brand new L100's complete with Owner's Manual and shipping cartons. :rotfl:

Great pictures! Thanks again!
I'd love to snoop around in there for a while...

Don, why do I get the impression you are giggling behind the pixilated blue? :p

Nothing new look at an L100T or T3. Same basic concept with a much better driver set.

Boy if they ever clean those shelves I would come from New York to go dumpster diving. Talk about a room you could spend some serious time in. Wouldn't it be a blast to go through it and listen to them all!! That would be some fun!!

Hey you guys, I don't notice any large format monitors in the bone yard(s). No 43xx or 44xx anywhere about back there?

There were probably a pair of 4344MKII's in there somewhere since that was a Consumer product. Unfortunately, Pro does not appear to keep a similar archive except for the models included in the history display.

So all the pro products and all the drivers are manufactured offshore?

I'm really hoping to get a pair of good old california made JBL's without going vintage or spending $10k...

Question: since each model was advertised to be "the epitome of sonic perfection" or some other such ad hype, how come there's so many different models??
