I own a pair of l100 with 123a-3 bass drivers and have seen auctions for 123a-1 bass drivers for the same speakers, for all that know any differences or preferences for either ,I appreciate your responses.

Well for one the actual frames are different, other than that I really coudn't say.

Most importantly - if you intend on swapping LF's - the 123A-3 is a negative transducer. It's ancestor, the 123A-1 is POSITIVE.

That means, if you are putting the -1 into a -3 cabinet, you will need to connect the RED wire to the Black terminal, and BLK to Red terminal to maintain the JBL factory phasing.

If your L100's have the 123A-3, they are the "L100A Century (Late Model)", and thank dog, the last...

It's been a while since we swirled about Polarity. I think I just got a stiffy! :idea:
