I'm curious if any of our forum members have come across these speakers. They were only in production in 1990 and 1991 under the model names Newport, Montauk and Mackinac as part of what JBL called the Harbor Series. I only ever saw the S116 Montauk's on Ebay once and they looked like a high quality mini monitor, elegantly finished in black lacquer. There's some basic information on JBL's website from their product support database. However, they don't show up in their tech sheet library.
I'm curious because these speakers seem to be one of the least mentioned systems produced by JBL. A quick scan of our forum indicates that no one has ever posted on these model numbers or names. I intend to pursue this with my contacts at JBL. However, for now, I was just wondering if anyone here had ever come across these speakers or knew anything about them.
