has anyone ever heard of a JBL 216 model? I can't find no info anywhere? Any and all comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jim

Maybe, it is a J216. I don't think the woofer was originally silver colored.

Ya this auction was posted over at AK he is selling 2 pairs one a 216a looks the same but has dark woofers. I agree they have been spray painted silver.

I agree they have been spray painted silver.Actually, a bunch of speakers come direct from JBL with silver or gold colored cones. I'm guesssing they put replacements in, and that's what they got.

Yep
They are infact J series, J216 it was a 6.5''woofer with 1'' dome H/F.
87db (with a tail wind)
8 ohm system I still have a brochure on them.
