I'm considering building the walnut speaker stands seen on Ebay from time to time made of four pieces of wood and fitted together. Should I run into any problems with JBL with this plan? They have consistently brought prices north of $150.00 in nice condition. Could probably sell them for half and make money. Before you all answer, let me slip on my 'how dare you dilute the Lansing Heritage' bullet proof vest and hunker down.

Several have talked about it here.

You MAY run into problems if you put the "JBL" name on and sell them.

Trademark, you know.... ;)

I saw the same thing myself, so I produced about 20 pairs of stands last year and sold them all on e-bay. Since they were reproductions (no logo) about the best I saw was about $50 per set. When you weigh the time spent vs return on investment, I considered it was about a break even point. But then, my labor rate may be a bit higher than some. I think that there may be more profit in reproducing grills like the L-100 frames, L65 frames, l-300 frames, and others which are a bit more complex. That is at least what I have found....
