Michael:

My first JBL pro-series stuff consisted of 2205A's in a large DIY cabinet. On top of that, I placed a 2420/2327/2328/2397 combo with a 2405 as a hood ornament. The sytem was biamped with Nikko and NAD amps. Active crossover was a JBL 5234 (800hz with caps for the 2405).

The guy said it was constructed to JBL specs. Bass wasn't that smooth. A 2231A may have been a better choice for LF.

Heavy sumbitches!

Thanks Dog
Your coment of 2205A in a 8ft. box
got me wondering.
Mine are 2205Bs in a 8ft. box.
I used to carry them around by
myself in the old days.
Can't do it now,tho.

Michael:

Mine were single 15 cabs, did you go dual with the 2205B's?

Hey Dog

I had (still have) 4 cabs. The small (8 fts.) have
1- 2205B
1- 2420 w/2307 w/lens
1- 2405
1 each 3110 and 3106 x-overs

The Big ones (11fts.) have (drivers are out)
2-2205Bs
1-2441 w/2309 w/2310 lens
1-2405
1 each 3110 and 3106 x-overs
See photo

The 11fts. are beat up bad, but still sound.
Plans are to refurbish all of them ,some day.

The 8fts.are fronts for Hi-Fi, not as quality as what
you guys are using but better than a lot of whats
available today.
