I pulled off the back off my homemade cabinet , and was looking at the back of the old A130 that I have .....I was wondering if it was all original ... I guess it's about 30 + years old , because there was a sticker that said 'Sam Ash 4/30/74' .....but on the cone there is a stamp of AST15S , and the serial number is 10024 .. any way I can tell if it was ever reconed ? Thanks in advance ..

Sam Ash is a music equipment, pro-audio store. Speakers were probably sold through them back when.

And AST was a company off Canal Street that did custom speaker cabinets and re-coning. Hmmmmm...

That is interesting ....I'm familiar with Sam Ash , as I've been to many of them .... do not know anything about reconing speakers .....I was thinking of selling the speaker to finance a 2X12 Avatar cabinet , but I'm actually getting used to the 2X15 sound so I may hang on the the 130A and D140F .... I just did'nt want to sell it as all original , if it was'nt ..... thanks ..

If you can, post a pic of the speaker (front, back, markings) and that might lead to some confirmation either way.

Good luck,
