I have one of each, and am looking for any documentation on them.
Thanks,

Thanks, I had that, I am looking for a user/owner manual, tweaks and tips, measurements, etc. There is little out there compared to the 4628.

What do you want to use them for?

Excellent woofer, decent HF driver, nasty 90° conical horn/lens, minimal crossover.

Tuned for PA use.

You can probably make nice constant directivity two-ways out of them, or decent three-ways, with some effort.

I don't believe there ever was a manual for them; JBL assumed anyone buying their Pro SR stuff knew what it was about.

I don't find sales lit for them on line, but I may have something in the archives here.

Provide port dimensions, and we'll see what can be done with the bass response.

My Sub1500's are in those boxes....

I believe the port dimensions are standard for all first series cabaret enclosures,
two 4" diameter 5.25" length ports. My 4625's are the same.
I know the 4628 went to 1 larger diameter (6"?)port.
Oddly, one of my 4625 has the front panel driver recess for a E145...

BB6P suggests those boxes are near optimum size for "Extended Bass" tuning of E145, but that they might be tuned a little bit lower, to 38.5 Hz, by extending the port length to 6.75".

If you're running them with 4625 subs, there's no need to change that. For the bass, it's the 4625's that might be reworked.

Again, what is your objective? What is the intended use?

I use them for bass guitar. The 4625 has a better high end and efficiency, the 4627 puts out a little more low end. I would like to extend it lower, I might try the port extension. It may be time to dump the 4625's. I might try modeling a non-JBL sub in the boxes.
