Hi

Have you seen this
http://cgi.ebay.com/JBL-LE-30-16ohm-Alnico-Vintage-60s-Tweeters-075-fostex_W0QQitemZ5862865127QQcategoryZ50597QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem

Have never seen this JBL LE 30 tweeters before. In what JBL speaker models where they used for ?

Was this model some sort of an JBL-experiment or a serial produced product?

Regards

The LE30 was my nominee for most beautiful driver.
It looks to me like someone had the idea of using the 075 bullet tweeter without the horn/bullet (phase plug) since at first glance the motor looks almost identical to the 075's.

Apparently not a very succcessful product, didn't stay around all that long.
Maybe too expensive for it's purpose, maybe just didn't sound good.

If you've ever heard the LE30's please share your opinion of their sound here!

It's funny to me how the LE30 was less expensive than the 075 at the time but looks poised to sell on eBay for far more than a typical LE75. There is some real interest there.

Probably did not make very many of them. On the other hand the 075/2402 models were made for many years and you can still buy the 2402 from Parts Express currently.

Really neat units those LE30's!

Here's a nice pair: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5865550837&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

He's also got the crossovers and LE10's, (needs surrounds), for sale.

I had a JBL system in my shop years ago that had the LE30's. They look prettier than they sound. From a collectible point of view, they might be worth having just to admire the looks. The eBay from Redlands is only about 40 minutes from me.:hmm:
