It only took a lifetime, but it was worth the wait: ClearAudio Champion 2 with an SME 309 arm and a Benz Micro Glider. :applaud:

Hell of a nice rig... I have the original Oracle, myself.... but this way out classes my table. Is the blue neon an add on for the photo or is it part of the design? Seems it would add noise.

It was for the picture. I just laid a cold cathode neon tube on the isolation table behind the plinth. It's the kind of light used to light up computer cases. The plinth is clear acrylic.

You really expect him to answer after acquiring a beauty like that? lol. He's off in audio neverland right about now. I own a glider, and I bought it becasue I couldn't afford a player like his. It was half the price of upgrading to a new one- and it made my entry level VPI Scout play like the big dogs (sort of). It opened my stuff up and had more immediacy- yet I find it a little too anylitical. It plays my sub-par records with a little too much truth-too articulate. The benz glider will make you want to buy new (better pressing) records. Ignorance was bliss before this cartridge- now I'm commited to vinyl to get my money's worth out of this thing (not that it's a bad thing...). However- he may have a slightly different opinion from his perspective. He's got a really nice rig (obviously!):)

Well let me just say I broke down and put on my UHQR by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab of Alan Parson's "I Robot" and I never play it. It is quit remarkable. I don't know if it's the table, the arm, the cart or a combination of all the above but the music is cleaner, crisper, with a black background and no ceiling noise. Even on my other standard 180 gram stuff it's quieter. It's like the micro stylus goes deeper in the groove and past all the surface imperfections at the top edge of the groove, if that makes sense? I'm really enjoying rediscovering my vinyl collection. Now I've got to pull a couple hundred album out of moth balls and build some album shelves or something. :)
