Hi,

I have A7 (416-8B, 802-8D/511, N501-8A). Recently I purhcased 288-16G/300Hz horn and N500F Crossover with transformer attached.

Question:

Do I use the N501-8A for the 416-8B and N500F for the 288 and connect them in parallel

OR

Same connection for 288, but use the transformer in the N500F for the 416-8B

I wish to know whether the transformer will degrade the sound. If I only use the N500F, it will be easier to drive at 16 ohms. But if i use N501 and N500F in parallel, the effective impedance is about 5-6 ohms which is a more difficult load.

All comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Does anybody know if the loudness difference between the 416-8A(8 ohm) and 288 (16 ohm) is already compensated for by using the transformer in the N500F crossover?

I noticed when I used the N501 for the 416 and N500 for the 288, even at max attenuation, the 288 level is still slightly high as compared to the 416/828.

Thanks.
