It's official.
The original kits for these drivers are no longer available.

*****

These kits were the C8RLE10A and C8RLE14A.

OK do you mean that there are no kits at all?? They can't use an LE-14H in an A???

What is going on is the support we are all so used to ending??

Some Service Centers might have a few kits in stock but JBL no longer does. Backorders on these kits are no longer being accepted and no further production runs will be made.

It appears the LE10H-1 kit has also been discontinued. There are LE111A and LE111H kits still available as well as LE14H-1 kits.

"What is going on is the support we are all so used to ending??"

It appears that would be the case. Along these lines I was informed earlier this year that "Management has little concern for products of 30 years or more of age. 25-30 years is a pretty good run."

I certainly understand it from a business standpoint, but it is too bad. Even if they were sometimes extremely costly to repair, I have really respected the fact that JBL has maintained factory support for many of their obsolete products.

Try getting a factory tail light lens for a 1971 Gray Plymouth Belvedere. You can get after market parts for Mustangs and other popular products... I guess if there is enough demand someone will produce after market kits for these, but there may just not be enough demand.

"25-30 years is a pretty good run."

I would say so too. Just a shame to have some really nice gear no longer repairable. Start getting your spares now if you plan on keeping working vintage systems.

Its a buisiness and they want to sell NEW JBL products!

Its an unfortunate situation, but if they keep having parts available for items over 25 yrs old, people will not buy new JBL items!

That's a fact Scott!

Now, where are those 1500AL's again? :)
Current MSRP is $760.14 each but you have to buy them in lots of 25.
Should we order 50 then? :rotfl:

Thanks again Giskard for your insight and updates on what's going on inside JBL.

Would you know if this affects me ? I was hoping to get the 14" drivers in my L250's reconed soon. Are they LE14A's ?

Should we order 50 then? :rotfl: Well, I only need 12 JBL 1500AL,s! So we could sell the remaining 38 drivers!

How do these things sound? Are they suitable for pro use?

How are they really gonna sell these if you got to order 50 units at a clip? Only a retailer selling to the pro market could actually do this.

So, even though they are for sale raw frame, JBL has kept them relatively unavailable!

:wtf:

Nope, you're safe for now.
The L250 and 250Ti's use the LE14H-1.

A shame, but things can't last forever.

I guess I should go to Best Buy and buy some Bose now.

I have my 2 best LE10A's in boxes in the closet as spares for the 4 in my system. Between the 6 drivers, they will last longer then me.:D

Well, do yourself a favor, store your drivers face vertical and keep their surrounds away from cardboard. Don't store your drivers face down or face up for extended periods where gravity will adversely affect them.
