Great forum, glad I discovered it.
I have a pair of 4301B Control Monitors which I bought brand new a long time ago. One of the woofers went bad years and years ago and I went out looking for a replacement.
Not knowing any better, I purchased a non-JBL woofer as a replacement.
It works fine, but after reading this forum, it bothers me that it's not original JBL. Where can I get the correct woofer to replace the the alien one?

Hello zcondo

Welcome to the site. Ebay would be your best bet. You would be looking for a 116H. Try the Marketplace forum. Could be another member has a spare they can part with.

Did you keep the old frame?

Rob:) I have a spare pair of 116h-1 woofers that i would part with, not sure though whether they would work for you there out of L60t models

They should work. But to be safe this need to be confirmed by one of the driver gurus.

This -1, -2 and even -3 where -1 and -3 is interchangeable, but -2 not  Just confuses me

I can get a 116h but it would need a new surround :)

JBL has the answers for almost any driver swap on the JBLPRO Site. You need to look at the explanation key and read the notes. This can go a long way to answering many questions about if drivers are indeed interchangable.

In this case the 116H-3 is the JBL reccomended replacement at this time. Remember this list is updated and changes due to driver availabillity.

Wow, you guys are amazing!
I did not keep the old frame, I would need the frame and a 116H-3. I will check the market place and ebay. If someone has these parts, I would definitely be interested.
Thanks!

...I would need the frame and a 116H-3Not necessarily.

What is the other woofer, the one that wasn't futzed with? It would be nice to keep the pair, a pair...

The original one says 116H on it. I did not see any -3, -2 etc. on it.

That is what my 4301b's have in them (116h's).

A friend of mine has at least 1 driver and all it needs is a re-foam.

I have a 116H that has been refoamed. Drop me a line if you are interested.
