Any idea what application this was designed for? Visually identical to the LE8T, except the cone is very, VERY thin, no Aquaplas.

Specs?

The LE8T-2 is the home version of the 2115A.

I may be making this up, but I seem to remember that it was the variant used in the Aquarius 4.

Yep, the S109 Aquarius IV, along with the LE20-1 and LX12-7

Giskard - those T-S parameters for the LE8T-2 produce a decidedly different response curve from the LE8T and the 2215A (using WinISD 0.44).

All told, it looks like the LE8T is the superior full-range transducer? It doesn't roll off until 40Hz, hitting -3dB at 35.6Hz. Thoughts?

When the library comes back on line, look up the Aquarius 4 and in the description of it's development they explain how and why the driver was modified.

Basically the LE8t-2 is pretty use specific.

Basically the LE8t-2 is pretty use specific.

As I recall the LE8T had a copper shorting ring which additionally added mass (ergo lower efficiency) tot he cone to lower it low-frequency resonance.
