We need to have some fun and post what were the funniest post or "quotes"" for the year that has gone.

The more serious types might consider thow in their 2 cents on the best technical posts and not so technical posts (moderators and Techbots posts are excluded).

We also need a gong award.

I also forgot to mention we need a award a certificate of natural stupidity.(that might be spliting hairs for some so think careful before posting your scores of nominations)

Perhaps at the end of the thread or after a reasonable number of submissions we can vote of the best of the best.

Edirol most deserves the Gong Award, hands down.

[In the abstract sense, of course.... ;) ]

The following by Ian appears to be a sarcastic masterpiece. Appears? Hell, it IS a sarcastic masterpiece.

"The highs zimmer beautifully, the bass firm but nibble and not clamped like before."

Ian Mackenzie

Oh,

I think that is the great typo award.

It should have read

"The highs shimmer beautifully, the bass firm but nimble and not clamped like before."

I tend write nice things about equipment and people I like listening to and not quite so nice about those I don't!

John Nebel

Ian,

Nevertheless, as written, it satirized the typical ad copy extolling the virtues of over-priced audio gear.

I know you told me there were typos, but still the stroke of genius remains.

John

I'd have to agree. WOW! Did that go bad fast! Fun to read.
BTW. What was the outcome?
I still think Yuri's intentions were good. Things just went bad for everyone.

So who's getting the Gong award.

Giskard was previously won it twice before (literally...muhhaha ) so it would be unfair to award him again.

My nomination is the Edirol Raptor.

No no you mis-understood me..

Yours was on purpose and not without good reason!

Where as the Raptor's brain has been fryed by his Edirol.

What he does is not on purpose......a disability apparently.

Yeah, maybe it was me. :dont-know I'm not real sure though. I'd have to ask someone to keep an eye on me to see if I turned into a Raptor thingie.

I don't know if you could keep a straight face long enough to pull that one off.

Any way moving along we need more posts .

Can we call for the technical nominations.

I could name a few but then they would know who they were and we would have more self sensitive types sniffling in the cloisters:rotfl:

What you see is NOT what you get.

I think it is meant in humour but she knows better ..or should do....bad girl..bad..spank..spank.

Mention spank and Lancer turns his ears up like a rabbit!

I am off for a ale or several dozen

In Oklahoma Choctaw parlance those foks are"Jayloo's".

Since I hooked up with my own little Native American it's funny because there are all sorts of words that have an English counterpart. Sometimes was living in Wisconsin, I thought the native American's up there had a real sense of humor, since some of the parts of city names refer to certain parts of a female.:D

of course it's funny when folks break in Choctaw around you and it's a little like knowing some German and getting dropped off in downtown Berlin > no matter how much you learn it seems insurmountable, and I've been at it 21 years.;)

I think the folks he cheated might not use the word entertaining ... Did Fred ever get that brown speakercloth he was promised?

Johnaec sold him a pair of S99s, I think it was, and upon receipt, Nightbrace wanted a discount for condition.

John was impeccably honest, and we know from his threads here showing how to do it, packing was not an issue.

[He did give a partial refund, just to be done with it.... :( ]

Have things improved (or hopefully...degraded) sufficiently these past seven years to accommodate new and infamous recipients?

All in good humour

l can think of some rather forgettable posts over the past few years that might warrant attention

Numb nuts answering their question in a 20 page thread

That sort of thing

And the weird posts like deciding to embark on a diy project because l heard something that sounded really good on"You Tube". Then completely fuck it up.

It’s time for those awards again.

Over the past 12 months we have see some interesting questions and even more interesting responses.
Some apparently weird threads in duplicate like a parallel universe.

Long blogging of diy project options without any outcome has become another trend as has asking impossible questions like “if any one has carefully listened to the 4367 and compared it to xxxx in the same room can you post what you liked about it and why? People with too much time on their hands?

Concerns about lack of bass (or bass problems) be it on graph paper or in rooms continues to plague those with enough money to buy new product.

Then we have an almost endless inquisition of he said she said about what.

Eye candy is back on trend be it binding posts, plated horn casting and Macintosh amps.

Fortunately we have some great threads where the pics really do tell the story.

Please post your favourite threads and posts.
