044 for LE25-2 in 4312?

Hi. Could get my hands on two 044's. Would the replacement of LE25-2's with 044's be a good idea, in 4312's? Maybe an improvement?
I know the crossover is at 6kHz for the original LE25-2. Couldn't find a value for the 044, maybe there's a gap, or the crossover would need modification.
The cutout wouldn't fit also, right?

Searched again, and saw the L96 has the same combination (LE5-12 & 044).
Seems suitable?
