I bought a nice set 4425's. Unfortunately the seller lives in L.A. (US) and I live in Amsterdam (Netherlands). Shipping costs quite a lot and is not without risk.

I have two questions:

The seller couldn’t get the horns of after removing the bolts, and now he doesn’t know how to box it. Is there a specific way of getting them of?
I want him to box them thoroughly and send them with uspostal, over ground it is $400 cheaper than with UPS, TNT etc. Butis it wise?
Regards!

There is a gasket behind the horn adhering it to the cabinet. See the last pic in this post for how to break it loose intact:

Gently tap a utility knife blade into the gap between the horn and cabinet at several locations around the perimeter of the horn.

I agree it would be best to remove the horn and driver for separate packaging.

USPS surface will likely come by cargo ship, typically contanerized. Well packaged, it should be fine, but will take much longer, of course.

If you really loved your 4425's you would move to LA to spare them the stress of shipping. Might be cheaper, too. :p

Hairdryer might help soften the gasket up and get the horns out.
