le20-1 question

i have a pair of s109's, with one having a bad le20-1. i'm trying to locate a replacement or repair kit. my question is can i use a off brand that measures 6.6 dcr the dcr of my other le20-1 is 4.4 will this cause any problems.

How would anybody know? You haven't even told us the name of the substitute.

LE20 kits are a problem. Perhaps you have found a suitable substitute. If JBL doesn't want to make them any more, I see no problem with using aftermarket kits. How much will it cost you to do this little bit of research? Do the one that's bad first and compare the performance to the other. If they work well together, then fine. If not, then do the other one. And then share your new knowledge with the forum. There will be many appreciative readers. There are lots of dead LE20's out there.

Used LE20's are available at reasonable prices here & elsewhere.

Why not just get the correct thing to begin with?
