What is a good damping compound to put onto JBL's
newest stamp frame woofers? I mean the stamped
frame itself, not the cones.

Look to what the car guys do to combat sheetmetal resonances.

I'd guess there's no such problem with stamped woofer frames to address.

Jean could tell us.... ;)

Yep
I have used a similar thing, but I found it easier to use the stuff you paint cos the shit goes every where out of the spray can as the nozzles are not adjustable.
On 12 -15 inch I gave them four coats and it takes out the ring, I used to do the same thing with metal horns with a good result.
