Hello,

I have recently acquired two pair of L112's that I like very much. The only thing I am not crazy about is the poor method that JBL used to connect the speaker wires to the speakers. It has the kind that you insert the wire and twist the connector to the right to lock it in place. Are there aftermarket 5-way binding posts that are a perfect drop-in fit for these speakers? I do not want to have to modify the speaker to make them fit. That way if I want to return them to original condition I can easily do so.

If you know of a particular brand and model of binding posts that fit this description, I would greatly appreciate it.

TIA,

BassHog

Perfect and after-market are oxymorons...

Unlikely the exact is available, but go to www.partsexpress.com (http://www.partsexpress.com) for alternatives, and SEARCH this place for other discussions on this.

boputnam,

Thanks for your reply. I had already done a search and saw that many people have replaced their factory connections with binding posts. What I did not see was any mention of being able to install these without modification.

I am familiar with partsexpress and I know that they carry a variety of binding posts. But I would have no way of knowing if any of them fit my speakers without modification. That is why I posted, to see if anyone else had done it.

Hi
You should have no problems, the only mod is that you may have to drill a slightly bigger hole as the one in there is nearly square to stop the post spinning when you turn the silly thing.
I must agree with Zilch getting the woofer out can be a bitch,be patient, the great American screwdriver should be your last resort
Have fun

Yea, Zilch and Michael get it. The only issue I ever had with PE's binding posts, was they changed maker/source some time and my order got two that were not matched. That pissed me off... :banghead:

But, they both fit through the existing holes, just fine.

Thanks everyone. I'll give the one's mentioned by Zilch a try first.
