"Bless me Father, for I "May" have sinned". I've been thinking of using NON-JBL tweeters. I've been tracking the 044/035 tweets. Holy High Price Batman. Vifa tweets can be had new for less coin. Has anyone found/used Vifa tweets, that come close to the 044/035 sound/performance ? I plan to use them with 2214H, 104H-2. L112 X/O, in 2.1315 cu' cabs. OR, if someone has a pair of JBL tweets, to save me from the "Fire", the PM feature would work...

I can save you my son. Two Hail Mary's and trip to JBL Pro parts. Take a look at the 052's new. This may save you from yourself and keep you on the course to what we know is good.

That will get you the 4412A driver set.

Let me tempt you away from JBL tweeters & go ahead & use Vifa tweeters. JBL from time to time has also used that company for parts. ....Your friend in need THE DEBBLE.

I must confess having used a 3/4 inch Vifa dome tweeter in a 3-way together with a 4 1/2" Vifa mid and a 8" Vifa woofer. All 6 drivers bought on sale for $125 ten years ago. Used them in my office for 6-7 years, now they are in our cottage.

They sound quite good actually. I am not sure it is a good reason to sin, because building a good crossover.... Crossovers for my Vifa's cost me $200.

I have Vifa woofers in my L110s, I had garbage picked the cabinets and they had one empty hole and one Radio Hack 10". They sound great, but the grilles now don't fit back in place. Not that I've cared, these are monitors above my recording desk, grilles aren't necessary. Great sound overall now, solid, clean and no fatigue even on a long session. I generally run them full range with the option of adding in an M&K sub under the desk by my knees, set so that as soon as I feel a breeze running past my pants legs, I know there's too much low end in the mix! :D

There are also Vifa tweeters in the three Boston Acoustics I have across the front of my theater in PA, they've been good, too.

Wow Rob, I didn't know the 052's were that low. I do have some 4412's (not A's) and they have 035ti,104H-2. They seem plentiful in the mid/high voice, I haved them turned down quite a bit. All in all, I like them. I'll have to punch the search button and get to know the 052's. Thanks all...
