I did a quick search but couldn't find this specific info.

Does the ME150H use the 2226H core?

Who can check this for me? My old field manual (1988) does not include this new drivers.

Cone Kit for the ME150H is C8RME150 ????

- Does the ME150H use the 2226H core?

- No, it's definately not a 2226 core .

- It looks to be the 2227 core ( with the thicker .5" / 12.7mm top-plate ), bigger magnet and beefier basket .

- I'm under the impression recone kits are not available with units needing service having to be replaced ( or sent to the factory ) .

Thanks Earl!

Is the ME150 FSO?

Is the ME150 FSO?

- I don't really know .

- From my perspective, FSO would make the most sense, since ;

(i) The cone assembly uses the typical 2235H-type ribbed cone, but
- additional cone weight comes from applied Aquaplas™ instead of a mass ring .

(ii) The voice coil is almost assuredly one of JBLs' deeper windings ( 1" ? ) , such as was used with the 2242h ( they also have the same magnetic assembly - just different baskets ).

(iii) The foam surround also has aquaplas™ sprayed on it .

(iv) These woofs should have 600 watt ( pink noise ) coils. So, just how often are they going to be burned out when used in a HiFi setting ?

- The above ( IMO ) adds up to a factory custom reconstruction of the cone/coil, at the time of service ( of course, a creative guy like Gorodn W could handle this ) .
