Remagnetizing?

OK - for my second clueless question of the day - when speaker magnets are remagnetized, does the operator just take them up to a certain level, or does everything get a full blast? I.E.- will a given magnet only saturate to a certain point, regardless the the remagnetizing power applied, or does it have to be carefully controlled to reach just a certain point?
