Hi,

I have a pair of LE123a1 and LE 5-2 drivers from original LE100 monitors and plan to build the complete speakers. The third driver (tweeter) missed in my design is LE 25-2. I think I probalbly should also get it.

My question is: what can one say on its quality, is it realy the best one together with LE5-2 and 123A? I undestand that was the entire model with its original sound, but LE 25-2 has paper cone, which was the standard at 70's.

Now time passed, would it be it better to replace LE-25 with a modern silk dome tweeter, or ribbon, any suggestions on models then?

Sincerely,

Alexander

Consider building speakers with the specifications of the 4312C but with L-100 appearance. 104H-2 midrange, 035Tia tweeter.

Thanks!

Do You think 035Tia is good only with 104H and is not suitable in pair with LE5-2? I don't want now to spend extra also on new middriver.

I have checked through various networks from 4311 to 4312 and it seems that JBL changed together the mid and high drivers for new models.

The other doubt is LE25 has reverse polarity to the middriver, while 035Tia has same polarity. Can anyone comment on this? Is that to reduce the rising responce of LE25? In fact I alway liked when transducers don't change the phase.

I have not heard that exact combination, but it is what JBL themselves reccomend on the L-100 tech sheet. They just say that it is not an exact acoustic match, therefore the tweeters should be replaced in pairs.

Thanks!
