I just got back from the first Winnipeg Lansing Heritage meet-up. LE15-Thumper invited John from our fourm and myself to a barbeque at his house. He invited a number of his audio friends who, while not yet members of our forum, are JBL and Altec fans as well. I'll let LE15-Thumper jump in this thread later to introduce his friends and their backgrounds. Otherwise, I know I'll get someone's name wrong. The batch of pictures below show everyone there except myself standing on the portch after the barbeque. Again I'll let LE15-Thumper add one of me since I know he snapped a couple. Of these pictures, the first has LE15-Thumper on the left. The second picture shows John on the left.

After the barbeque, it was downstairs for an extended listening session and chat. The first picture shows LE15-Thumper's system. The speakers are a custom system consisting of an LE15H bass driver, LE85 mid and 2405 tweeter with LX5 and N7000 cross-overs. I got to listen to that system at volumes I rarely get to experience since, at home, it would lead to a lawsuit to get me evicted from my condo. I loved it. His system is extremely dynamic with really solid bass punch. All in all, it was a very enjoyable session and I hope we're able to do it again soon.

I think that's really cool that ya'll got together. Interesting set of speakers, too, similar to a homebrew 4333A.

Wow, Don, you didn't waste anytime getting those pics up !
Ok, names first: Left to right
First Pic: Me and Fred P.
Second Pic: John and friend Chris S.
Third Pic: Fred P and Chris S.
Fourth Pic: Walter Romanyshyn, Tube & Solid State Amp Builder and Designer Abso-freakin Circuit and Tannoy Genius !!! Remember the "WORT" Musical Stuff ? That's him, you should see his new MoSFet and Tube stuff !!!
Fifth Pic: Another Keith, Woodworker/Cabinet builder Extraordinaire !
Sixth Pic: Part of the system, not shown is my IMF collection and stuff in far right equipment rack. It's not a bad setup, nothing that would appear on the cover of a Magazine or anything. Lots of other stuff not shown that is either being fixed or upgraded
Seventh Pic: Chris talking to Keith. One of my pride and joy pieces behind Chris's head: Luxman L110 FM only tuner. That is not my main TV ! I put it there to get it off the floor. It's old stock from my now "T*TS up" TV repair shop.
Eighth Pic: WTF is on my Head ???? My magnifier glasses for doing repairs. I can't remember why I put them on ?? I am blind as a bat when it comes to close up things......who knows
OK, now I remember. I was showing John the Jasper JIG kit I got from PE.
L-R; John, Fred, Walter, Ted (Chris S. Brother) and me. It's true, the camera puts on ten pounds !
This pic shows Don explaining to John how big the woofers are for Project May !
Actually, he was explaining the details of Underhung Voice Coils
