ive contact the Company
he told me there is a 12" Claire ????? woofer in it ?

the i ask them about the price

now my question - has anybody same Horn plans ?

- Nope !
- & The selling price that you were quoted seems hard to beat .

iam serching for a litte Basshorn!

- That series of boxes from IAW Group seems to be too small to be effective as a real LF horn ( this seems to be borne out by the posted specs ) / now/ if this is what you want, try building something from SpeakerPlans.com (http://www.speakerplans.com/index.php?id=plans) . This owner seems approachable through email and actually authorizes anyone to build up to 4 units from the plans he's developed ( & posted ) for woofer boxes . On top of that , he publishes Response Curves for his designs along with some recommended drivers .
- It really doesn't get any better than that for a "cut & paste" project !
- The HD 15 (http://www.speakerplans.com/index.php?id=hd15horn) seems to be quite similar to what you are after .

:p

Have you see this? http://www.vt52.com/diy/myprojects/speakers/bass/bass.htm

I don't see building a "small" bass horn. You really need the linear length of the horn to function properly. Here another: Tempest Bass Horn (http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/TempestBassHornPlans.pdf#search=%27bass%20horn%20p lans%27)

By comparison my bass horns are a huge 4 feet by 4 feet and 22 inches wide, but then I use a 18" McCauley driver in them.

Hey Matthias,

Bill Fitzmaurice has a 24" cubed folded bass horn design that you might want to consider. Here is the info on it (http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/plans/product_info.php/products_id/5?osCsid=4f0d5693164eee25c4f7a33a5be0d457).

I cant remember the specs on which JBL driver it will accept but you can check out more information in their forums (http://audioroundtable.com/BillFitzmaurice/) too.

:D

hmmm... maybe I messed up on the url - it is http://www.billfitzmaurice.com
Then check out the "Tuba 24" in the Plans section. It might not be the best design out there, but for something compact, a horn and DIY its pretty good.

How about these: http://www.volvotreter.de/downloads/lascala10inch.pdf

Here is a pic taken from House de Kris' system. You wouldn't need four of these, just one should do the trick.

question about the HD15

what is the "Batten 18x15" in the right side of the horn ?

what is the "Batten 18x15" in the right side of the horn ?

- A "batten" ( according to my Websters' dictionary ) is generally thought of as a "strip of wood" ( for nailing or clamping to other things ? ) . You might also call them "cleats".

- In this case , the designer appears to use this term to describe 4 long strips of wood, that form a ring around the ( inside edge of the ) horns' mouth.

- The purpose of this "batten" might be to provide a "nailable/screwnuttable" inset edge, onto which a person can fit a "flushmount" / optional "screen" of some sort .

- This screen isn't mentioned in the plans / it's just what I surmise as the intended purpose for the batten . Another functional purpose could be to add some extra strengthening to those panels forming the horn mouth . I'd certainly include the battens .

- The batten is composed of 4; full length, 1" x .7" strips of wood, inset back ( by @ .5 " ) from the front mouth edge ( and located on the inside surface of the 4 panels .

Clear ? ( English is just a second language for me until I've had more coffee ) :D
