Get used to it guys.....I'm sorry but I'm in the process of getting a pair of L-300s. The serial numbers are #'s 19689 and 19383. They were purchased by the original owner in 1974 - 1976. My question is are these Alnico or Ferrite drivers?

Does anyone have the link to previous JBL lines? I'm talking about the year to year product lines? It use to be on the Site map and I had it bookmarked. Swapped out computers and so the bookmark is gone. Thanks!:banghead:

Definitely alnico.

Is this what you meant?

According the JBL tech sheet they used 136H(ceramic) in later models instead of the 136A. All I have see have had alnico.

The speakers came back today. Much to my surprise the were refoamed and not reconed. The cost of course was about 1/3 of what I had expected to pay. I cannot believe the sound. I played many of the same tracks as I did on the 4333s yet these have a lot more detail and the bass seems a little more controlled. The drivers are the same more or less so I think it has a lot to due with the different amplifiers is my guess. I'm happy and it sounds great. So now I'm going to revisit some music and enjoy an AB product or two! Thanks for the help folks!
