Well, not really that bad.

I found this set at the local thrift, $15. I thought they tested fine at the store, but lo - one dead tweeter at home.

Pulled the one goodun and ebayed it for 0.99, ended at $30.

Parts Express $1 mylars x2 = $10 delivered. (closest match to DCR I could find)

They work and sound just OK, better than I thought they would now that I'm used to it. This is only for vinyl / FM. Receiver is an Allied 395, 55w / ch I think. Platenspeiler is a Pioneer 115, defrocked of all mechanical encumberances.

This is where the monitors were going to go, if I bought some, but now after "the Man", I think I'll have to live with the larger-than-appropriate-but-probably-the-best-option L26.

No, I'm not talking about the speakers. I see the crock sitting there on the floor, and it reminds me of the crock I have sitting next to my PC600. I sometimes wonder if it introduces any harmonics, but it's an old family heirloom, so, it stays.

The 3 gallon reduces a room-induced bump at 73hz...I have a 20 around, too, if I feel like listening to jazz.

I have a 122Hz bump in my room... what size crock should I be looking for?

Oh, and by the way, what works for the suck outs?

You need the rare 4 gallon without the wing.

Use Jugs for suckouts - the dome top adds resonance. Mapleshade sells exotic corks to taste.

Mapleshade sells...

Tell them about the crocks and jugs... they'll be offering them as soon as they can find a source for them no doubt.;)

How can you tell? I don't believe that those have output at 73 hz.:p

Man, talk about an instant hijack of a thread. Sorry about that.

I see many 2500s on eBay. They must have sold a bunch.

Ze local Best Buy uses them in the receiver roulette room, and I think those tweeters are blown, too.

Apparently, the woofer is used in the HT1D dipolar THX surround...hmm.

I'll have to check , for the hell of it. Specs say -3 @ 90, but they have better bass than the SuperZero, -3 @ 85 (-3@85). They're right up against the wall, and the spring clips even accept banana plugs!!!
