HI i'm new here and i am trying to find out some info on these speakers. they are my dads and were damaged in a flood when their hot water tank leaked. the only thing i know about them is that they are from the 70's i think. the insurance needs to know a value. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Hi, can you please make a pic without front grille, or try to find out what's the driver numbers. It is possible to be Altec A7 from 1971.

Those are possibly Barzilay cabinets with almost anything inside.

If the grille isn't removable then the back will come off with screws. It will be necessary to see the drivers to get any sort of accurate assessment.

What an odd set up. Add ons?

Not odd at all... well the use of the bass port for the 075 was an after thought, but it is a basic 002 system with a D123, 075, and N2600 network.

The cabinets appear to be generic types from an aftermarket manufacturer and are worth almost nothing these days, especially with water damage. Boxes like these are most often given away or discarded.

Different story though with the JBL components inside. The D-123 woofers are worth around $200, the tweeters (probably model 075) about $400, and the networks about $100 or $150. The most active market for these components is ebay; you could do some searches of current and past auctions to see what things are selling for.

If your dad wants to keep the systems the easiest thing to do would be to find a suitable pair of used cabinets and transfer the components. With a little searching you could probably find a more appropriate pair of either genuine JBL or aftermarket cabinets, which were intended to house these components.

I said the set up was odd, not the set. :p

The placement of the 075 is odd, if convenient, but I was particularly curious about the plywood on particle board baffle. I wonder what it looks like from the front?

thanks alot to all. i checked the tweeters and they where the model #075's. i am more into car audio so maybe i will do some research and build some cabinets my self. i enjoy building sub boxes so building cabinets should not be a problem.
and i am very surprised to see the tweeters worth more then the woofers.
thanks again
