Look at this,

How can anybody fix a new cone (coil) in this speaker ?
The gap between coil and inner pole piece is so small
that you can put only a piece of paper between this !

Are you sure it isn't the coil that's warped, (out of round)? Is that the new one, or the original coil/cone you're showing? If you're going to recone it anyway, (assuming that's the original one), why not pull it out and check the gap concentricity?

It looks like the former is warped...if this is a new cone I'd return it or maybe have the seller try his hand at it

The gap spacing for the K145 is .057

This is measured when the coil is out of the gap.The measurement should be taken all around the gap and should be no smaller than .057 at any location.

It appears that your gap is tighter on the right side of the picture that you posted. This could mean the motor has shifted and is no longer the same spacing all around the gap.If this is the case you will need to search for a replacement speaker.Perhaps the camera is playing an optical trick.

You need to remove the coil and see whats going on inside of the gap.

Good Luck

Yes, this dirvers get new cones years ago.
The cone is driving without rubbing !!
The dustcap was damaged, so i cut it out.
Dustcap is repaired(?) and glued with Bitumen(?).
But this repair was very bad.
So i have to fix new dustcaps in both drivers.
The coil is centering(?) very good.
You can`t hear any rubbing when it`s playing.
Picture is not taken in the middle of the inner pole piece.
What i want to know is, the shim to fix a new coil must be
very thin, or not ? Hope you understand.:)
