Get a pair of JBL K 145 from Axel (don`t know his Lansinheritagename)
A few work i have to do on this. But they are in good condition.
They (one) need new dustcaps and one has two 1/2 inch cuts in his surround.
What do you think about. Where can i get new dustcaps for this drivers ?

Good luck with them.

Eckhard, what the heck are you doing with all those speakers?

JBL currently recommends using the same dome as the 2235. It is very dark gray instead of the original cone color. It is JBL part number 50201

I would replace both for visual symmetry.

Cool woofers!:bouncy:

Very Nice Eckhard !

- You're a lucky fellow to have such nice K145s . :D
- Those are some great building blocks for a hi-resolution system .

- Now I think you'll need some 2242 "deep-gappers" to keep the VLF resolution properly matched . :p
( or did you buy some of those Sub1500 15" sub-woofers? I'm forgetful as to who all picked up some of those things :o: )

May be the Fs is a little bit higher now because of painting the surround.
But it doesn`t matter in a rear loaded horn like 4530 or others.
By the way, there is a big reflexsub with an 18" Craaft driver to push the 4530
below 50 Hz to ~ 35-40 Hz (-3 dB), but i doen`t use him often.
Waiting for new dustcaps and then they are really finished.

You may see the tarspots on my K 145 dustcaps.
If you get tar or bitumen(?) on your dustcap or cone use nitrothinner(?),
yes i know it`s the wrong word(canīt find), to remove it. You have to coat (wipe?) the whole dustcap or cone with a piece of old cloth and let it dry a whole day. I will see tomorrow what i have done. Wait for this. I will show pics.

Eckhard

The english word for nitro thinner is : Laquer thinner, paint thinner is the oily stuff
in german Terpentinersatz. Took me 15 years in Canada to understand.
