My local speaker dude is out of town until at least Wednesday.:(

Suddenly I am inundated with Decades!

I have a set of L36's components on the way, so that'll complete the hardware requirements for that set. All that remains is a bit of cabinet refinishing and I'll have a great set.

New issue = I picked up a set of L26's for $44 at an estate sale. Both tweeters have open coils, so I'll be sourcing a pair soon, or soliciting advice on the best course of action to replace them / restore.

Both of the 125A's coils rub and the foam is shot anyway, moot. Seeing as how I have good cabinets and trashed drivers, what would you do if you were in my shoes? Intent is to have a pair of working 26's.

Ebay in a set of drivers and sell off the junk?
Recone some or all at the local speaker shaque?

I can tell at the end of the day, I'll have more $$ into them than I could get back out, but that's not the primary concern. I don't need to eat this month...:banghead:

I'd check the DCR's of the woofer coils to see if they've been rubbing too long. If not, a good refoam job might bring them back into alignment?
