I received a PM from a member asking about my Sovereign building project from a long time ago. This was my first effort to build a pair of JBL's. Here are a few pics that show the project. Can't seem to find any that show them complete, but these are over 30 years old. Was lucky to have kept these. The cabinets are not exactly correct when compared to the originals from JBL but keep in mind that at the time these were built I had never seen a pair in person. These were built from the pics on a sales brochure and the dimensions listed. Wonder where they are today. I have a few more pics but I need to Photoshop them down in size before posting them. The file size is too big to post. Rick http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/images/smilies/smile.gif

A few more pics. Will try to locate some more that show them done with the grills. Rick http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/images/smilies/wink.gif

Rick,

Simply marvelous! They would be incredible if you had done them from plans - but from an ad?!? :jawdrop: !?!

Goerge: Here's another one. Built these in about 1981. I was able to style them after my Golden Oak Sov's so it's a better job. Still, never saw a Sov II so I split the grill down the middle and much lated found out that it had two spacers. These went to a good friend of that time. He still owns them today. They had D130, 075 and N2400 in them as I recall. Rick

Rick, Very nice - and a pleasing variant on the grille. Looks like a gloss finish - gotta be brave!
