G'Day All,
The tweeter in these L19's does not look right.
The spec sheet posted by the techbot in the past lists that the 035TiA is a replacement for the original tweeter.. but this one does not look the same..

Any comments?

Regards Scott

Not sure what the tweeter is. It's not an 035ti. Take alook at the woofers too. Looks like they did a sloppy refoam with it on the wrong side. There is staining on one of the woofer dustcap that looks like it could be glue. Can you do a local pick-up??? If not I would be careful and ask lot's of questions.

The correct tweeter for L19 is LE26.
The one pictured looks like a later model of " I don't know'',be careful B4 you buy as you can't go to the corner milkbar and buy a pair

G'Day Scott, The LE26 is nearly physically identical to the LE25 . the physical difference is the LE26 uses a hard plastic front cosmetic cover instead of the LE25's foam dampening ring. There are performance differences between all the different numbered models, like LE25- "4" etc. The replacement tweeter in the listing looks like a Phillips Silver Classic I owned some time ago. It is not JBL, I can tell you that with 99.9% certainty. Here are some close up pictures of an LE26 out of an L19. I hope it helps you make a decision. The 035ti is an outstanding replacement choice if were inclined to do so , I would agree. Good luck to you, Steve G

Here is the back. BTW, I said that the LE26's hard plastic face cover was cosmetic but it may also have an engineered function too . Again, good luck Down Under. ;)

Steve....

You are correct sir!... (said in my best Ed Mc Mahon voiceover).

This " hard, sloped surface serves as a transition to the enclosure baffle eliminating discontinuities and diffraction effects. This method of coupling the high frequency loudspeaker to the baffle has proved to be more effective than the use of sound absorbent materials" (foam rings).

That tweeter with the 19's looks bogus at best...here's the 035ti

What are the sonic differences between the models? I am repairing a pair of L100, and I have to replace the LE-25. May I replace with LE-25-2 or 4? If so, does the crossovers have to be replaced? All L100s used LE-25 ?

Early L-100s used the LE20-1. I think that the LE-26 or later versions of the LE25 would be good replacements, and no crossover change would be needed.
