Hello fellow JBLers,

I'm new to the 4um and I have a few questions regarding my 4411's.

I bought a set from a recording studio without the blue grills. Any info on were I can build/purchase some?

Also, what tweeks can I do to the x-over to get better performance?

AND: I've seen 4411's with the "rolled" surround foam at the edge of the woofer and I've seen some with the "accordion" style woofer edge. Mine are the rolled edge which seem consistant with the 4411 brochure. Any difference on these two versions?

I am using a Marantz 170DC amp to push these monitors.

thanks for your feedback!

Here is a link to the tech sheets at JBL pro.

As you can see the woofers should be 128H. They should have a half roll foam surround. You could call JBL and see if they have a new grille. If not, you could try to make your own from a sheet of half inch particle board.
If they were mine I would probably leave the crossovers alone, only replacing the L-pads if they are going bad. If the high frequency response is not up to your expectations, I would suggest to send the tweeters out for new diaphragm kits.

Thank You Don,
The tweets are fine as well as the rest of the drivers.
Thanks for the info on the grills. I could probably build my own fairly cheap but I'll call JBL and get a quote from them anyway.:bouncy:
