Has anyone attempted this and if so, how difficult is it. I have a pair of 4311B's that I've owned since 1983 and one of my woofer ate it!:banghead:
Thanks-

You will find many posts regarding both reconing and refoaming. Try a search...

The resurround guide has alot of info on it that is directly applicable to you. It can be found here:
http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=469&highlight=resurround+step-by-step

A 2213 is nearly identical to a 123 or a 2212, the differance being the spider mount is larger in diameter on a 2213. A 123 recone can be seen here:

http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=5304&highlight=123+recone

Read the resurround guide first though.
Good luck and welcome to the forums!

Looking at the second link, am i right to say that the 2213/123 can only be recone and not just replacing the surround? I noticed the surround is not make of foam.

Thanks.

I've re-surrounded 2213Hs and 123As before... it's not a simple job (you have to first find the correct fabric surround, install it, and then coat the new surround with appropriate damping "goop"), but it can be done quite effectively, as long as the cone and voice coil are intact.

I can do this job for anyone who wants to send me the driver; depending on parts and such, it'd run between about $45 and $50...

Gordon.
